RTN season 10 episode 3

Where were they during this trip?
In this RTN episode the interviews were held at Tonopah, AZ (Deon Clark), Fairfield, CA (Elise Benstein), Columbus, NM (Paul Salopek).

What careers were being introduced?
The careers that were being introduced were Deon Clark who is a Nuclear Engineer and founder
Palo Verde Power Plant. Were Deon Clark raised many didn't come a great background for many were poor. Deon had a brother who was in the military which influence him to also join, all this time he was into math. During the the time in a navy it was a hard time, but eventually brought him what he is today
Elsie is a food scientist who works at Jelly Belly Candy Co. She loves her job for shes a person who likes to be behind the scenes and not receive credit directly. But instead be satisfied to know that you are making some one happy for at least a few minutes.
Paul Salopek has a degree in science but it was just something that lead him what he is now as a reporter. He first became a reporter for he had been stuck in a town he had no idea of and needed money for transportation. That is until he was introduce to a reporter job, which he was only accepted because he ad a college degree even though he had no experience. That is when he gradually be into what he is, one must willing to do new things.

What advice did they have to give?
Deon Clark: “Get ready to become a nerd…because the nerd faces all the same challenges as everyone else. Yet the nerd has the strength to defy all the peer pressure, do well in school, and still survive—without the entourage! That ain't no nerd; that’s a tough kid!”

Elise Benstein: “Don’t be afraid to make mistakes…You just never know. You need to be open to opportunities to be able to capture those opportunities when they present themselves.”

Paul Salopek: “I got to where I was by no sort of pre-plotted line, no sort of career-orientated well-thought-out plan—I was going where the story was.”

Do any of theses careers interest you?
I think working in a candy factory as a scientist seems very interesting, and more cause i have a sweet tooth. But it also surprise me for one doesn't think of these jobs when debating in careers.

What did you like/dislike about this video?
What I liked about this video is that it shows that one can prove anyone wrong, to people who put expectations on you. Also if you know you need education, what can a person do to stop you of doing that...nothing.
