What were the careers introduced?
Valerie Weiss is a (PhD) Harvard biochemist & science filmmaker who first started to work on Her PhD but gradually went into film making. She accomplished in studying for both subjects that interest for she didn't want to find regrets in any of her decision, even so Valerie feels she grateful to have a PhD for it has a connection/ feeling when filming (its still part of her)
Suzy Clark is a women that since a young age she wanted to be involve outdoors and began studying some biology. She later started working as a teacher then a editor, but then realize she missed out doors which soon brought her what she is now working at Mount Hermon Outdoor Science School.
Delfina Eberly works in Facebook, she comes from a large Mexican family. Who migrated here. Since the very beginning she was looking for something different and unique that it wasn't the same of people daily lives. That's until she was at college and was offered a part time job and was beginning to be interested in technology. Even though she knew nothing in this kind of part time job which eventually turned to be a full time job, she started taking technology classes in college and learn to be a leader and investigate more what are your interest. Once you feel that what motivates you to get up you know it the one.
What advice did they have to give?
Valerie Weiss: “If I never get to the finish line, if I’m poor, if I don’t have a family as a result, if I give up everything else I want, what one thing is still going to be worth having done?”
Delfina Eberly:“When I get a little voice that says ‘I’m not sure how to do that,’ that’s when I try to lean in the most. That’s when I’m going to learn the most, that’s when something is going to change.”
Suzy Clark:“If you truly embrace the struggle, or the challenge, or the change, or the suffering—whatever it may be—through that surrender to it you then move through it, because you allowed yourself to be changed by it.”
Do any of these careers interest you?
These really never came to mind but is good to kept informed.
