Week 1: RTN – Season 9, Episode 1
1. Where were they on their road trip (state(s), cities)
Is more of a slight introduction of everyone but one of their interview is at New York.
2. What were the careers introduced? (List name and career)
Brother Stavros is a monk and founder of New Skete Monastery. Here they raise, and train German Sheppard. Also Elliot is 28 years old was a former teacher and was now doing some farming. Nekeed 22 years old and just graduated from criminal justice, and is interested in pursuing in science. Last but not least is Brooklyn who not sure what to do with life but likes artistic.
3. What advice did they have to give? (Each person)
Brother Stavros: “The biggest pitfall is to let society decide what your happiness is. To be really happy, you have to be counter-cultural, and have the bravery to do it.”
4. Do any of these careers interest you? (Why or why not?)
NO, it does not interest me but I do like dogs, and want one but I know I don't have time to raise or take care of a dog.
5. What did you like/dislike about this episode?
I like that they do describe that they raise dogs for they are mans best friend. But it didn't really talk about their culture and why go into that religion or so it was mostly telling go out their and don't get held back.

1. What were the careers introduced? (List name and career)
Their all in philosophy and religion. Boe Soeng grew up in a society that was influenced/hurt by the Vietnam War and Civil Rights Movement caused to feel that he wasn't really living how he wanted which later was into eastern philosophy. he moved to a Zen Buddhist Community and became a psychotherapist so he could work with people using Buddhist principles. Maria Popova is a writer and founder of brain pickings, she always loved writing when young that she wrote many thing such as only because you good at something doesn't mean that will make you happy. Eventually she came to the USA and found many freedom which soon inspired to make writing a living. Cecil Williams is a minister at the Glide Memorial Church, he didn't arrive at first for when he was first assigned to a church he noticed he was sent their to create a segregated church. He then moved and over time was send to the church he is now, and loved it and hope he can preach his religion.
2. What advice did they have to give? (Each person)
Boe Soeng: “The biggest wisdom really comes from not knowing, because if you admit you don't know, then you're willing to look.”
Maria Popova: “The most important thing that a person can decide--that should dictate what they do in life--is what matters in the world and why.”
Cecil Williams: “My bottom line to me is that love means living dangerously. And to live dangerously means to risk all that you have.”
3. Do any of these careers interest you? (Why or why not?)
NO, for I'm not really interested in their religion or in going into philosophy of some sort, I prefer to just draw and use my art for other stuff.
