Where were they on their road trip?
They stopped at Palm springs, Ca with Adam Steltzner, a NASA engineer and at Taos, New Mexico with Sherry Grathler, a river guide.
What were the career introduce?
Adam Steltzner is a NASA engineer who is the head of landing curiosity rover on mars. But he never started with this career in mind, for he was in high school he wasn't even sure if he graduated high school and never went to see if he had a diploma. Instead he went into music school and after a few years and things began to become serious so he backed out and was once again with no leads. Not until one day out of curiosity of stars and planets that he studied astronomy in community college. He later then discovered he was following his father and backing down when things began to become serious, that's when he started to work hard in his studies and learned to to glad what he has accomplished instead what he will receive in accomplishing that work.
Sherry Grathler is a river guide, who first have thought in becoming a lawyer, for she believed it was a good way to make a good living. But once Sherry was getting close to the goal she discovered that it was not what she truly wanted. Instead one day her friend asked her if she wanted to go rafting soon it became clear as water she does see herself doing this for living, and since then for six seasons Sherry has become a rafting guide.
What advice did they have to give?
Adam Steltzner:“When you look back at your life, you remember the great highs and the great lows. The middle sort of doesn't stand out that much, so never fear risking the great lows in pursuit of the great highs.”
Sherry Grathler:“A lot of my philosophies in life are around water: you have to go with the flow, but you have to act at the right time.”
Do any of these careers interest you?
I've never had interest in becoming a river guide for I don't really swim a lot or go into water a lot, but i have considered astronomy and study the stars and look beyond ones eyes.
What did you like/dislike about the episode?
I liked the video for Adam and Sherry prove that one can make mistakes in the process of looking for what you love you don't have to discover right away, its a process.
