RTN interview ART week 8

RTN, INTERVIEW OF ART
2.    What were the careers introduced?  (List name and career)
Van Taylor is a shoe artist in Obama shoe. He loved artist and he graduated college he knew he wanted to do something involve in business, when he could no longer take being a broker he quit his job and finally decided to be an artist. Obama was his inspiration when he painted a design on a shoe which later became the start to his success which lead him were he is now. Keep faithful in what you believe in no matter how hard it gets. William Albert had poor grades in High school and worked in a telephone construction until his sister convinced him to do something better in life and mention he has been good in art. Which later he went to study in a college and became an Photographer in national geographic. For he just kept going and nothing held him back for what he wanted to do.
William Morris is considered one of the best american glass blower artist who has his own store, even has collections in the Metropolitan museum of Art. When he was growing up his biggest fear was people always asking what he wanted to do in life when he was young. But since he was young he was influenced by his parents for his mother did art.
3.    What advice did they have to give? (Each person)
Van Taylor Monroe: “When things got tough, I didn't just give up. I was going to be a success story.”
William Albert:“It makes me realize that it's possible…to set out with a goal and it's possible to reach that goal.”
William Morris:“Would you rather have one year of utter vitality, or would you have 10 years of just sort of ho-hum mediocrity? Either choice is fine…Live the choice that you make.”
4.    Do any of these careers interest you?  (Why or why not?)
I have never really thought in going in any of these careers especially but I  know art is going to be part of it. What I liked the most was William Morris who his life is all about glass blowing, which I think its beautiful and amazing but takes effort. Because if you want to become better than people you must learn from them first then use your own creativity to make it your own.

1.    What were the careers introduced?  (List name and career)
Ross Rossin is an painter of his store Rossin Fin Art who always new what he wanted to do since he was young was to become an artist. You have to learn to appreciate the unknown and overcome fear for that's what will hold you back the most. He will always will be dissatisfied and never be happy how he is for he will always will search for more and that's the price you pay. Todd is a comic book artist, who never really wanted to go school. He used a baseball scholarship and worked as a janitor and work in comics during the night. He had the opportunity to later work in comics and jump over college. But one must understand that not everyone has to be a success by the first years out in the real world everything takes time and passion. Terrence is artist and founder of Rosalux gallery, he never thought that art will be working in art as a living but all he knew he wanted to be part of his life. Even so their will always people telling you, you will never make it but you just need to go forward.
2.    What advice did they have to give?  (Each person)
Ross Rossin:
“Not knowing everything is a good thing because it gives you courage.”
Todd McFarland: “All the ideas you have when you are younger, who knows, maybe in 10 years, you'll be in another spot and that idea might work.”
Terrence Payne: Ask yourself...“What can I do that's different?”
3.    Do any of these careers interest you?  (Why or why not?)
I'm not sure that I will do them in a future but the comic artist Todd had grabbed my attention. For since 6 grade I have gain interest in anime/manga which is similar in a way to comics. And what Todd said that motivate me is that even though you don't know were your heading if its something that you want make it part of your life.
Summary; What did you like/dislike about this episode?
What I liked about these interviews is that its all involve art, and even though I feel at times that I may not know were I'm heading I know art will have to be part of my life. And these episodes just showed that I have to be willing to have the courage to fight and keep myself motivate to get what a want. For that I have to be willing to take risk even if I end up falling I must take the risk.

Shark Tank Season 6 episode 12

WHAT IS THE PRODUCT?
(DESCRIBE)
WHAT ARE THEY ASKING FOR? ($)
WHAT DO THE SHARKS GET? (%)
DID ANYONE WANT IT?  WHY/WHY NOT? (WHO/HOW MUCH $/%?)
WAS A DEAL MADE?
Explain……
Neil is the CEO of the company "the Mensch on a bench" which is basically are holiday gift for Christmas, for Jewish people.

 Neil is asking 150 k
 for 10% of their company.
Kevin- doesn't see it as an investment and see it more of a hobby so hes out. Mark says says that you have to big idea but don't have everything you need to get their so he's out.
Robert sees that he needs to maximize sales. and went together worth Lori 150 k for 30%. Barbara makes an offer 150 k for 20%
Neil  accept deal with Lori and Robert of 150 k for 15% with guarantee that they will get their money back by the end of the year
Nathans company called EveDrop, is an easier way to add to put the Christmas lights.

 he was asking 75 k
 for 20% of their company.
Mark because Barbara mom was smarter than Nathan hes out. Barbara is out for he is not persuasive enough and the product doesn't sale itself so shes out. Robert is out for he let go of a sale for the company. Lori believes it has a potential down the road but it has a long way to go so she's out.
Kevin because the product is to simple hes out.
Their wasn't any deal for Nathans company for his product was not that efficient and also doesn't seem that his product will sell and become popular.
Q flex is a portable massage item that is cheaper than the expensive massage chairs or mechanical items.

They are asking for 20 k
for only 20% of their company.
Kevin because he sees that they can't really commit them self to company hes out. Lori since shes cant see the product successful shes out.Robert since he sees that Lori is an expert in this and she got out so did he. Barbara and Mark joined together and made an offer of 25 k for 25% and will manage the company.
They made a deal with Robert and Barbara with 25 k for 25% of the company and must be available when needed for their company.
Trina comes from California and her company called Paws are basically footprints to imitate footprints pf icons holidays for children enjoyment.

 She wants 50 k
 for 10% of her company.
Robert because their are no sales you don't know if the product will become popular for their is no proof. Kevin made an offer of 5 k for 50%.
Barbara 49% for 100 k and in the future it will be 50, 50.
Lori, mark made no deals.
Trina was considered a beast she knew how to get things done. Therefore Trina made a deal with Barbara of having 51% of her company for 100 k and later on both will go 50 and 50 as equal partners.

Add in your opinion of each product: 1) Whether you like it or not, 2) Whether you agree with the outcome and why/why not.
-The "the Mensch on a bench" is something I don't know if its something I can say much for I don't know much of Jewish religion and if they would actually buy, but I'm glad he got a deal for I have no idea if they would buy, also the man freaks me out a bit. EveDrop product was to simple it wasn't really worth it compared for the price and do it yourself, so it was a product not worth investing.Q flex product does seem durable I believe their product should be tested and proven and  then it would be an outstanding product, but it was a good thing they got a deal for a business that's not that successful is starting of good. Now for Trina product I honestly believe that I can do it myself and not need to purchase such product, it will be great for people who can't do it themselves but its not a product that will hit its top boards. So I disagree it was a good idea to invest in even more when their is no sales to prove that it has a popular market.

David Banks:“I never forgot about my passion; I never forgot to do something for me. So whatever job you do, don't lose yourself.”
Dennis Muren:“Everyone says you've gotta get that foundation, and I think that’s probably true; but I think it’s also good just to go out and screw up and do it without knowing what you’re doing, to keep your energy up and just keep the fun of it.”
Interviews Part 2
What were the careers introduced?  (List name and career)
Gabriel Garcia is an independent filmmaker who came to this country first as a director in theater, and later a producer made an offer for he liked his play and wanted to make a film. since then he was fascinated by this experience became his motivation. If you have the spirit to do something do it.
Gary Rydstorm is a sound director at Skywalker sounds, after he did the sound work at school he loved the experience and even though he never knew if he were to find a job. Eventually a teacher at USC got him a job, and that's the beauty that their was no planning for you never know what your good at so just let you passion lead you.
Gillian Caldwell is the director at the human rights programs witness, when the first video cameras came out in 1889 Gillian wanted to make a documentary film that makes a difference. Gillian Caldwell:“If I had made a choice, it was to try to change the world…I think you have a responsibility to try to ensure that there is actually freedom.”

Summary (What did you like/dislike about this episode?)Do any of these careers interest you?  (Why or why not?):
What I truly I liked about this episode is that the bravery of Gillian is amazing she could have been killed or kidnapped and sold, and no one would have ever known were she had gone, with no back up as police right outside the door. just to share that story. It takes a great risk to make a great influence or impact for others and this was to help women earn and receive security and freedom. What I liked about the series of these interviews is the different impact that they show us that others can do in their job. Such as Gillian posing as a company with woman smugglers, or even Gabriel who wasn't born here but by traveling and experiencing new opportunities just amaze you the things can happen. I don't know if I will be working in the Film industries but I now that if I never take risks I will never get to live the experience.

Apprentice – Season 1 – Episode 6

1. Where do the teams meet to find out about the task?  Why is that spot important to Trump?
In the beginning they were asked to meet at Walman ice skating rank in central rank, for it was a charity work that Trump did and was able to finish under the expected year and under the budget estimated.
2. What is the task?  How do they win?
The task for this episode was that each group will receive five celebrities and will negotiate with them to create a bundle of an experience with them, all to raise money for a charity and the highest bid wins.

3. Who were some of the celebrities the teams met with?
Some of the celebrities that came out for each group was Brooke Kennedy, Carson Deity executive pro, Russel Simon, and  Kate white.
4. What were some of the auction items the teams secured?
Some were to be able look into a famous fashion designer clothing in the biggest event fashion week runway and have their own clothing line for them. Other ones were to hang out or experience their work experience. One of my favorite ideas was to go bolling one night out.

5. How much did each team raise?
Protege had raised 35,000, while Versacorp had raised up to 40,000.

7. Which team won?
The leading team in this episode was Versacorp winning by an amount of $5,000 more than team Protege.

8. Which three went into the Boardroom?  Why did each go in?
three of the members that went into the boardroom were the leader Omarosa, Heidi and Jessie. Omarosa was in charge of the team therefore was in fault but their was a conflict between Heidi and Jessie was considered the weakest link which I think she was for they way she spoke.

9. Who was fired? Why?
In the end Jessie was the one fired, for she wasn't sticking up for her self/ or defend herself and that showed as a weakness therefore she was let go.

10. Do you agree with the firing?
I believe the one who should have been fired was Omarosa for her attitude was rude and  practically ignored all the ideas or request of some of the team members. But I personally hated Jesse for back stabbing her friend in the past video.
